Magensa, a veteran in the payment and info-sec world, has spawned a device designed to protect your vital account online. Dubbed the QwicKey, at its base it is a USB credit card reader tied to their QwickVault software. QwickVault stores passwords and personal information in an encrypted software vault nearly impenetrable to hackers. The software uses a personal password and a swipe of a credit card as a two-factor authentication system. Once you’ve authenticated yourself with the QwicKey the Qwick Form software uses program calls to ‘sneak’ your information into any web forms. They claim these methods are impervious to key-loggers or other privacy compromising programs.
This smacks of the functionality used by KeePass and KeeForm with the addition of the credit card as a 2nd password. While the system’s components may not be exceptionally intense the combination of security enhancing factors combine to greatly reduce your exposure online.
